Room, 1996 Featured Performance at the 1996 Cleveland Performance Art Festival An interactive multimedia performance with video projection, sound, text and live performance by Lynn Lukkas. Room was inspired by Virginia Woolfe's essay, "A Room of One's Own," laying bare the social conditions that kept women from producing vast bodies of literature. This essas was adopted by feminist artists as a call to support women in their creative work. "Room," poetically explores the space of feminist creativity juxtaposing images of gestation, of gender-bending with text that critically approached notoins of gender and creativity.
