Lavirtud Negra, 2000 A multi-media Flamenco dance theater work by Susanna DiPalma and Zorongo Dance Theater in collaboration with Pam Nice (script) and Lynn Lukkas (video). Walker Art Center's "Out There Series," at the Southern Theater, Minneapolis Minnesota La Virtud Negra was ommissioned by the Walker Art Center as part of their "Out There" series, this wild full evening work is a retelling of "La Celestina" by Fernando Rojas in the 'film noir' style. An illustrious Madame is found dead... thrown off the top floor of the Walker Art Center - who did it? The mystery unfolds with the video work of Lynn Lukkas, the narration of Jim Stowell, and eight dancers. Live music composed by Pedro Cortés Jr., with guitar, percussion, piano, saxophone and the voice of Manolo Segura. |
