Respirae Performance I, 2003

A live interactive performance work by Lynn Lukkas with programming assistance by Mark Henrickson.

Respirae Performance I was a live bio-sensor controlled performance work. As the the performer, Lynn Lukkas' heart beat words identifying emotional states were triggered from a database and projected onto two large video screens situated stage left and stage right. The third screen behind her contained the above image of a flock of birds. As the words were projected Lukkas spoke them then wrote them on pieces of paper and stuffed the paper into her mouth until she could no loger speak. Consuming the language of emotional experience. No live documentation of the Respirae Performance I exits. The above video clips were projected on to screens during the performance.
